SXSW Cancelled Amid Coronavirus Fears

On March 6, 2020, Mayor Steve Adler declared Austin a local disaster area and issued an order that effectively canceled SXSW, the conference that brings in 280,000 people and $355 million to the local economy. Without that reliable source of revenue, many in the hospitality and entertainment industry will be affected.
